Donate Today: Help Women Overcome Poverty Through Entrepreneurship
LadyBoss Glasses is taking the lead in an effort to deploy 10,000 micro-loans at 0% interest for female entrepreneurs in the poorest parts of Southeast Asia.
An increase in the proportion of women accessing microfinance services by just 15% could potentially reduce gender inequality by up to half in the average developing nation.
Microfinance is the extension of small loans to the very poor, in combination with other financial services such as saving facilities, training, health services, networking, and peer support. This enables women to pursue entrepreneurial projects that generate extra income, thus helping them to better provide for themselves and their families.
The last 30 years have shown that microfinance is a proven development tool capable of providing a vast number of the poor, particularly women, with sustainable tailored financial services that enhance their welfare.*
Unfortunately, women are often societally disadvantaged and discriminated against by major banking in these areas. One billion women, or 40% of the global female population, don’t even have access to a bank account.
Recognizing that women traditionally receive smaller business loans than their male counterparts in developing countries, LadyBoss Glasses is taking the lead to deploy micro-loans at 0% interest.
Whether at home or abroad, the LadyBoss mission remains the same: empowering women with a clear vision for the future.
